Is astrology real or are you just conducting an elaborate sociAL ENGINEERING SCHEME?

What even is reality, anyway? Just kidding, but seriously, I like to tell people who don’t “believe” in astrology that you can not “believe” in gravity but you will still fall down if you jump. Astrology may be humankind’s longest running data science project. For literally thousands of years, humans have observed and documented correlations and patterns that exist between our lives and the cosmos. I understand that science has a difficult time validating astrology, but to me, astrology is less like a field of science and more like a language- it would be pretty hard to “prove” the English language, but I am pretty sure it unequivocally exists and helps us to process and communicate about the world around us. Astrology is not much different. I can’t tell you why or how it works, but in my experience and apparently for humans over countless generations, it simply does.

It is an honor to be able to hold such ancient wisdom and work with it to help people like you make sense of their lives.


WHY PAY TO TALK TO YOU WHEN I CAN FIND CHART INTERPRETATIONS FREE ONLINE OR ON CHATGPT?

When I was starting out with my astrological studies, I used plenty of free websites to get some basic understanding of my chart, and don’t get me wrong, using the vast tools that the internet has to offer is awesome! However, if you want true depth and insight into your chart without paying money for classes and books or spending years studying, you really do need to consult an astrologer to be able to synthesize the vast amount of sometimes conflicting data points that a computer might provide you with. Also, for the deeper timing techniques and analysis that is present in Hellenistic astrology, there are unfortunately even very few educational resources that exist for free online, let alone interpretations, so I highly recommend working with a real human astrologer to get accurate info to address your specific needs. The bonus is that there is a another human on the other end who can be emotionally present with you as you explore your life through the language of the cosmos.

WHAT KIND OF QUESTIONS CAN YOU ANSWER? CAN YOU TELL ME WHEN I WILL DIE OR WHEN I WILL MEET MY TRUE LOVE?

Simply put, no. While there are techniques designed to address questions like that, I do not work with them. I can tell you general timeframes during which certain concepts like mortality or partnership might emerge more strongly, but I can’t provide exacts. As an astrologer, I certainly believe that there is an element of fate to our lives, but I also believe that freewill works alongside fate to weave together our stories. Wouldn’t it be kinda boring if I could tell you everything and you had no choice in your response to the astrological “weather?” I can tell you that it looks like metaphorical rain, and then it is up to you whether or not you want to buy an umbrella, stay inside, or jump barefoot through the puddles.

Here are some common topics that I can and do address through my readings:

  • Relationships in general, what kind of traits might be important in partnership, where you might connect most with someone

  • Matters pertaining to career and “purpose”

  • “I am going through a no good, terrible, very bad time. Will it be forever?” The answer is usually no, btw.

  • Making sense of how hardship and trauma plays out in our lives, how it can also help us make an impact on the world, validating difficult experiences

  • Expected timelines/" “weather reports” for the month/year ahead

  • Where to look to for support/how to get needs met based on the chart

  • Birthday significance

  • How different parts of personality or life aspects connect to each other or impact each other

  • Inquiries about specific parts of life, both for general understanding and for timing:

    • “I need help finding inspiration for my creative pursuit”

    • “I just got fired/hired/moved/am thinking about moving”

    • “I am struggling financially”

    • “My parent/sibling/partner/child and I are fighting”

    • “What kinds of things should I focus on in my meditations?”

    • “I want to make more friends”

    • “I am thinking about having a child”

    • “I struggle with communication/my emotions/my focus/etc.”

I am flexible and can address most topics about your life that may be on your mind, as long as the expectation is not that I can tell you exactly what will happen and when (again, imagine me more like an astrological weatherman than a clairvoyant predicting your exact fate). Can I meet with you in person?

I offer limited in-person services to those in the Olympia, WA area for a slightly higher cost (gas is expensive, y’all!) after our first session. HOW DO I FIND OUT WHAT TIME I WAS BORN? WHAT IF I AM ADOPTED OR DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO MY BIRTH INFO?

The first place to check for your accurate birth time is your birth certificate. In the US, depending on where you were born and the year in which you were born, you may be able to request your birth time from the state. An accurate birth time is the key to bring timing techniques and other tools into the chart analysis.

However, if you know generally when you are born (i.e. “around 9 AM”) but don’t know the exact minute, usually if you are in your late twenties or older, we can work together to determine your probable rising sign, which would allow me to preform most techniques I work with to read someone’s chart with a more exact time.

If you know your date of birth but have no way of finding your time of birth, I unfortunately can’t offer you a full timing reading, but I would still love to talk with you about your planets and how they interact within your personality- you can get a lot of essential information even without a birth time. If you don’t know your date of birth, I am personally unqualified to meet your needs, but for both people who don’t know their birth time and/or for people who don’t know their birth day, I would recommend consulting an astrologer who specializes in rectification- a fancy way of saying that they can walk backwards with you through your life to help determine your most likely birth info- like reverse astrology engineering. If you are interested in rectification services, I suggest reaching out to Patrick Watson, a highly reputable astrologer who specializes in rectification.

WILL YOU READ my child’s/ Partner’s/ Friend’s/ parent’s chart?

Sure, if they sign up for a Couples Reading with you and fully consent to be a part of the reading. But I will not look at a chart for someone that is not an active participant in the reading. “They said it was okay,” is not enough known consent for me to explore their chart with you. When I look at a chart, I feel like I am holding someone’s whole life in my hands- it is a very intense responsibility. I am happy to do it for people that sign up for that level of vulnerability but I cannot in good conscious take that on for people that have not.

As for children and young people, I have worked with a handful of people under 18. I am able to tailor my approach to better serve people in a younger age range, but they need to be the one initiating the reading with me. If a parent or guardian will be present, it must be by choice of the person whose chart I am working with.

The only exceptions to these rules are 1) when someone goes through a birthing experience, it can be helpful to look at the chart of the infant, not to read about their life, but to understand the context of the birthing story within the parent’s life- and 2) I will do mini “personality” readings to help parents understand how children of age 7 or under might learn best so the parent can better meet their child’s needs.

Can You read My tarot cards too? Is astrology similar to that kind of thing?

I am a professional astrologer. While I know a thing or two about the tarot, I am NOT a professional tarot reader, tea leaf reader, or psychic. I know some incredible folks who may be able to work with you on things that are outside of my wheelhouse (check out my referrals page), but I personally will just stick to the space math.

Astrology explores similar universal archetypes to many means of divination, but unlike tarot cards, for instance, which provide insight only when you ask a question, astrology is always working, whether you ask it to or not. In my eyes, this puts astrology in its own unique category in respect to other fields that it is often lumped together with. Not at all to diminish the equally valid and distinct knowledge that can be obtained through divination techniques (that also typically rely on ancient wisdom and practices), but astrology is its own thing.

I do not offer specific discounts or alternative payment options, but I do believe that everyone, regardless of means, class, or status deserves to access this knowledge. As a trans person, I am sensitive to the often unjust and insidious ways that the systems we live under can deprive us of support, and it is important to me that I am available to provide my services to those who are in need, as I am able.
